BIRTHDAY ADVENTURES!!!!

On Friday, the American Ambassador came to visit our school. He was in Martin talking with the mayor, and he heard about our school. He came, we had a small assembly. The kids sang a song for him in English, and he made a short speech. I was really impressed because the students were pretending to listen, because they didn't understand, something they have never done for me... so way to go kids! After the kids left, the Professors of the bible school, and Jozef and the Americans were still there and they all sang happy birthday to me! :D the Ambassador sang happy birthday to me... what a strange experience.
videoAdventure 2. Friday was Roman and my first anniversary. We went to Bojnice to the zoo and the castle. It was really fun! Now I know enough Slovak that we talked to the animals, and about the animals in Slovak. It was a fun lesson. Of course we also ate some wonderful halusky, and I made some pumpkin cheesecake. Adventure 3. Roman and I got up early for a pre-church jog (oh yeah, we’ve been jogging. I know its out of character). Then we made some delicious blueberry muffins, and went to church. My birthday! Michal Valco brought us to a cave in the high Tatras. It was really fun; Marek and Michal’s nephew Ado came too. We went on a tour of a cave that is 34 km long. It was amazing. Parts of the tour felt like we were walking through forests of stalagmites and stalactites. We stopped at the Sheep cheese place on the way home. For dinner we made delicious cheeseburgers and potatoes. Roman liked them so much; he asked if I could make them again on Monday.
