We had alot of fun. On friday we went to bible study with the kids. Janka, and two other girls take turns leading it. The children were too shy to use their english, but I told them what easter days are called in english because they were talking about holy week in slovak. Maunday thursday was a funny one to try to explain. Then we went to adult bible study and apparently I have a slovak twin because everyone in this whole village was telling me I look like one of the daughters of one of the families there.
Saturday we went to church confessionals. It was special because its holy week so there were four extra priests there. We did a little bit of paperwork, and went for pizza. It was cloudy and cold outside so we didn't do much there.
Sunday we went to church, the priest blessed all of the pussy willows.... because thats the slovak equivilant of a palm (?). then we had sunday lunch at Jankas house. It was really warm and nice outside so we were making wreathes from flowers. We got to play with her niece Emma, and some people from their extended family came over sunday afternoon. We played a little badmitton. it was great.
Janka's sister Lucia is in a folk dance group, so they pretended I was a doll and dressed me up.
The bus was so full on the way back I was almost sitting in the drivers lap. We made it home. Now let me tell you all the things we ate.
buchty- its bread dough balls that are steamed. They have plum jam inside, and you put poppy seeds on the top. they are good!
stinging nettel- her dad cooked some up with onions and a little bit of eggs. I was a little nervous to try them because I didnt want to have a itchy stomach... but it was good. No one else wanted to try it.
French potatoes- potatoes cooked in a pot with saur kraut, saussages, eggs and cream. yummy
most other things were normal. soup, chicken, stuff like that.
